Anti-materialist... perhaps in a self-made-man-Thoreau sort of way, but not such that I have very defined self other distinctions. Ego boundries are certainly present, but the roles which exist in the relations between men are not fully understood due to the subject's somewhat absent father. This also results in an uptake of Kohlberg's postconventional morality. The morality contradicts the steriotypical sense of male duty outlined in Kohlberg's fourth stage, despite the ego-boundries. It should also be noted that the subjects high expectations of himself lead to high achievement, and disappointment with others due to weak self-other distinctions. This leads to the characteristic emotional waxing and waning that is often seen in both men and women, but its source is neither introspection, emotional regrouping, or any other number of causes. It is instead the balance expected between a disappointment with socail relations and the need for interaction.
